Dunkin' Brands Takes Stand Against Obamacare
The Canton-based company is lobbying the White House to changes its definition of full-time work from 30 hours a week to 40 or more per week, according to reports.

Canton-based Dunkin' Brands has joined the fight against Obamacare.
The coffee and baked goods company is working to overturn a major provision of Obamacare, according to a Newsmax.com report this week.
Specifically, Dunkin' is lobbying the White House to change its definition of full-time work from at least 30 hours a week to 40 or more per week, CEO Nigel Travis told the Financial Times, according to The Huffington Post.
The change would leave Dunkin', as well as other companies, with fewer workers to insure under the health care reform law, which requires large employers to provide health coverage to all full-time workers and their dependents. Those companies who fail to provide coverage could face a penalty of $2,000 per worker. The mandate applies to every company with 50 or more full-time employees.

I will no longer buy Dunkin. They want to work people to the bone in a mindless job and kick em out at 39 hours to save a buck and to hell with their health care. I like Starbucks and Mary Lou's coffee better anyway. And in Cedarville, Blueberry Muffin makes a real donut just across the street. Dunkin Donuts suck.

Honey dew in carver has the largest, donuts and best around, I agree totally with your comments about Dunkin having worked in one a long time ago...want blood sweat and tears and your reward is your paycheck and thrown out the door before you hit the 40 hr mark

The only part of this statement is all three companys will be forced to cut everybody's hours to comply with and unrealistic business model called Obama Care. Lived 24 years in Plymouth myself, this will hit every business!

I find it incredible that a company as large as Dunkin being so darn cheap that will not have any full time workers to avoid insurance....we have two and another set to open soon in a town of less than 12,000 people trying desparately to put other shops out of business and won't hire full time employees in order to escape paying insurance....crude, rude, and. Their donuts are awful
