Diversity Awareness Month at the Plymouth Public Library

Celebrating, promoting, and appreciating diversity in our society is a theme of this organization. Its purpose is to foster and further our understanding of the inherent value of all races, genders, nationalities, age groups, religions, classes, and physical disabilities. The No Place for Hate program was started in 1999 by the Anti-Defamation League in Boston in connection with the Massachusetts Municipal Association. There are over sixty communities in Massachusetts who have either been certified or are in the process of becoming certified as a No Place for Hate community. South Shore and Cape communities involved in the program include Barnstable, Brockton, Cohasset, Duxbury, Falmouth, Harwich, Hingham, Hull, Marshfield, Mashpee, Milton, Norwell, Plymouth, Provincetown, Quincy, Scituate, Stoughton, and Sharon.
