Arrest Made in Plymouth Bank Robberies

Plymouth Police arrested a 39-year-old homeless man in connection with three local bank robberies in the past month.

Francis A. Alberghini was arrested on Carver Road at 10:07 p.m. Tuesday on a warrant charge of armed robbery. He was arraigned in Plymouth District Court Wednesday morning on two counts of armed robbery and held on $200,000 cash bail. He has not been arraigned yet on the Kingston charge.

He is accused of the armed robbery of Sovereign Bank in Cedarville Jan. 29, Eastern Bank in Kingston Feb. 4 and Rockland Trust in Manomet Feb. 8.

In both cases the robber presented a teller with a note demanding cash. No weapons were shown but the notes stated that the robber was armed.
